Please find another vet. My fr...

Please find another vet. My friend took her adopted mixed breed dog here. After a week of owning the dog he starting having mulitple accidents in the house. She brought him to the vet and he was put on medicine for crystals and told to put him on a grain free diet. When a week passed with no change she brough him back in. They gave her another medicine for a urinary tract infection. When the dog was still not improved in a week she took him back, she was sent home with a different round of antibiotics. When again there was no improvement she brought the dog back in. She was told she would need to go to a specialist (even though all the vet had done was two tests on the urine) and it would cost her thousands of dollars. The vet told her he sees this all the time with mix breeds and told her to return the dog. Clearly the vet has a preference for pure bred dogs as being a mix should have nothing to do with it (in fact statistically speaking they tend to be healthier) further to push the return of an adopted pet because of the thousands of dollars it would cost to go to the specialist! He apparently couldn't diagnose the dog, how would he know what it would cost, and he never bothered with more then the one test. I came here to see reviews and find the other review made so close to this date confirms to me that maybe the vet would be better off not treating any other animals since he cares so little for their welfare.

0 stars! I've lost two of my pets by making the mistake of bringing them to this vet out of the convinence of the location. The first pet, our cat, was acting quite differently than normal, wasn't eating and her eyes were buldging out of her head. The first visit he said she was fine and sent us home. We waited a few days and went back and the doctor focused solely on her weight and basically tried to make us feel like bad pet owners. After bringing her home and her symptoms only getting worse we brought her to Animerge in Raritan. They immediatly x-rayed her, a normal thing to do when your pet hasn't been eating and is in pain, and found out she had swallowed string and that it was wrapped around her intestines and needed emergency surgery. She never made it out. Had we know days earlier, the string would not have been wrapped so tightly and she would have had a better chance. When I confronted the doctor about not giving her an x-ray he got very loud and instead of answers only proclaimed how long he'd been in business and basically about his credentials. If this vet wasn't so much of a "know it all" my pet might very well be alive. My family received a phone call a day after my cat died from the vet asking if we left her dead body on their doorstep. Little did he know my cats body was on its way to be cremated in Pennsylvania. How cold to call and not ask but downright accuse me and my family of doing that to our pet. Giving him a second chance, a second pet was brought after losing a dramatic amount of weight in a weeks time. After all the testing that was done, he says our cat has diabetes. We give our pet its medicine for two weeks and frequently bring him back for check ups. Although our cat has shown no improvement we're told he is getting better. Unhappy with this verdict, we bring him to the Murray Hill vet. After their first testing they discover his liver is failing and he was in such a late stage the only humane thing would be to put him down. The vet there told me had they seen him just a week earlier something could have been done. Again confronting the vet, instead of an answer to how could he have missed the liver failing out of all the tests and bloodwork he did, I got the same response of basically "I'm the vet and you're not". PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DO NOT bring your beloved pets here. This mans arrogance often interferes with the proper care for your pet.
