Founded in 1913, the Anti-Defamation League is a civil rights and human relations agency that works for the promotion and protection of the Jewish community. It secures Jewish people from defamation and encourages justice and fair treatment for all. The organization combats anti-Semitism and various forms of bigotry, as well as protects the civil rights of individuals. The Anti-Defamation League provides unbiased education and training programs that help to create proper home, school and work environments. It also offers lessons and resources for elementary and middle school students that explore gender role stereotypes and gender inequality issues. In addition, the organization features training and curricular programs to combat cyberbullying that help youths to respond to threats and use technology safely.
