My husband and I enrolled with this company Nov. 2000. It was scary giving up the use of our credit cards, but the best thing we've ever done. We paid off $38,000 in 5 years. We were broke, behind in payments, had interest rates of 25%...all that changed. Our interest rates were lowered to around 9.9%. Sears though wouldn't budge. Despite us being over the credit limit (due to finance charges), our accounts were re-aged. The debt didn't reduce, but we didn't accrue any more cc debt. I can't tell you how wonderful and peaceful our life is...even in today's economy...because we don't have credit card debt. If anyone out there says this sort of thing doesn't work...they're wrong. I felt it was the ONLY way to get out from the nightmare we were in. If anyone also says it's bad for your credit...not true. Building credit takes time...month after month. Both our FICO scores are over 800 now. Use Community Credit Counseling. It takes patience and consistency. But it will work.
