Sapienza Bake Shop (no relation I believe to Sapienza Bakery also in Elmont) in Hempstead Turnpike is absolutely the best! I am a big fan of theirs. Got my mom's 60th bday cake, our Housewarming party cake and a cousin's baby shower cake and they have never disappointed us in any way. Thier coffee is really good too. Good to see a nice neighborhood place still going strong and in operation. We are about to get my nephew's huge cannolli cake as a bday cake, he loves cannolli's and I'm sure he'll love this one. It has a huge cannolli with lots of baby cannolli's surrounding it. I'm sure none of us will be disappointed at Chuck E. This place is the best. Family owned and operated. Do not even THINK about getting that cake at Costco or the supermarket!!!! Just because the big box stores SELL cake, it does not mean you should buy it from them!!!!Stick with a real bakery.....Sapienza is a true bakery, they have been in town forever!!!! I have been a customer since the late 70's. They have never disappointed. Many other shops have come and gone. the cannolli's are the best. In summer they have the best Italian ice with a huge variety of flavors. I can not say enough good things about the owners and the staff, and there baked goods are out of this world.
