I've been going to the Golden Steer for many years. I have never had a bad meal. The food is excellent and the service is great. I never know what to order when I go there because everything is so good and I want it all. The onion soup is especially delicious, never had anything like it anywhere.

Golden Steel came recommended to me and my boyfriend by a friend… great steaks great service. Then I saw the reviews and got really excited about going there and called my boyfriend to have him make a reservation. When I talked to him about that night’s dinner reservations he told me we weren’t going. When he called for the reservation the lady that answered the phone said she had a table available at a time that worked for us but stated it was a 4 top. He stated that there were only two of us to which she replied “well it would really help me if there were 4 of you”. My boyfriend re-stated to her that there would only be two of us to which she disgustingly replied “You know, the common person calls the day before to make a reservation.” He called in the afternoon... not 5 minutes before. I was floored when he told me that she talked to him in that manner. We’re trying to patronize your establishment, drop probably $100 for the two of us between food and cocktails, and you talk to us that way??!?!?!?? I can go to McDonald’s and spend $5 and get better service than that from the doped-out teenager behind the counter. Who cares about the food, with attitude like that, I wouldn’t step in the front door to find out what their food is like.

Highly recommend because their Prime Filet is the best around. The dinner comes with the usual bread, but, also served, if you like, is their French Onion Soup and Salad.
