Poudre Valley REA is an electric cooperative serving consumers in Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties, Colo. Poudre Valley REA is one of more than 930 cooperatives providing electrical power to 37 million people in 47 states. Electric cooperatives serve 12 percent of the nation's population. Electric cooperatives own 43 percent of the electric distribution lines in the United States. Poudre Valley REA offers its customers optional forms of electric generation. A number of its customers support power generated from renewable resources. Poudre Valley REA s power supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, agreed to purchase for resale to cooperative members a limited amount of renewable energy from wind, solar or small-sale, low-head hydro facilities.
