I purchased several used items the other day, including an L-shaped desk, a tall book shelf, an executive chair and a vanity table, totaling more than $1,000.00. All items were ok with the exception of the desk.Because all of the workers had left to go on runs, I had to help the lone worker there (I'm assuming he's the owner/manager) load everything into my trailer. As we began to load the desk (each section is very heavy), the manager was pushing/sliding it hard into the trailer, causing the ends of the desk to weaken. At first I didn't notice it, but when I got to my office, I realized that two main screws holding the left end of the desk had become completely damaged. The left side had separated and the wood is not permanently ruined.The desk I had just purchased was falling apart and I didn't even have a chance to use it yet! To make matters worse, the manager locked the drawers on each section of the desk and gave me the keys. I was alarmed when I tried to unlock the main desk drawers, only to discover that they were jammed and would NOT unlock! I had to drill three holes into the side of the desk where the locking mechanism is located in order to free it up.The company's policy is NO returns, NO refunds. Basically, your sh!t out of luck after you pay. I called the manager to complain, but all he kept saying was "I appreciate that." Yes, I "should" have paid more attention to the condition of the desk as he was loading it. Yes, rules are rules. However, the least this company could do is to inspect their items thoroughly before offering them for sale! They could also have enough people on hand to load things without needing the customer to help them!The manager was pleasant to work with - until after I paid and later complained. He could care less about my issue after the fact, and that's truly poor customer service.My advice to anyone shopping at this establishment is to go over every item with great care to make sure there is no hidden damage. If there is any, they won't point it out! You've been warned!
