My husband and I live in the neighborhood of the Light Horse Tavern and have been dining and enjoying cocktails theree bar since the begining (we were at the opening night party). I must say I am disappointed to read the negative reviews. I was born and raised in J.C. and remember when Bella's occupied that space. The atmosphere, esthetics, and attention to detail are second to none in the Paulus Hook area. Now for the food. It is consistently good-sometimes great and we like that the menu is seasonal. I must say the burger is the best value. I do agree that sometimes the waitstaff is not always up to par but the bar staff is. We actually prefer to sit at the bar and eat. It is a rarity if either owners Ron and/or Bill are not there to oversee and welcome comments good or bad. We actually enjoy the diversity of the neighborhood and business trade. We enjoy it so much that in September we celebrated a special B.D. there with 22 family members in a private area upstairs. I give a four star rating to our favorite neighborhood establishment.
