About Bay Area Insurance Agency Founded in 1955 as McCarthy Company, Bay Area Insurance Agency, Inc ( BAI ) has enjoyed over 50 years of serving Northern California's Commercial Insurance needs. In 1975 as the Homeowner Association industry was taking root in California, a young producer by the name of Jim Brady ( BAI's current President ) started to carve out a niche that would become the trademark of this successful agency.
