Horrible Company is my Opinion. Missed picking up my trash 2 weeks in a row. I called and they told me that I was only curbside pickup (not down the driveway that they had been doing for the past 5 years). Then told me it would cost almost double for that service. I then stated I wanted to cancel after finding a much better/cheaper service and they said that I was responsible for 60 day cancellation (which I had never been notified or signed for in any contract). After owning a service business myself for 25 years, I can say I have never treated a customer like they have. Even their office staff was insulting to me. Don't walk but run away from these guys.

Saw the few bad reviews and decided to give them a try anyway. My mistake! They were decent about getting me signed up, but failed to show up for the very FIRST pickup! I had just moved in, and so the trash was already piling up - an extra week of waiting made things messy. I hoped it was just a fluke.

I canceled today because they missed another pickup, the 2nd out of only 5. As a first time customer, I was not impressed. I called them up to ask for a refund for the pickup, since I was now going to have to make a trip to the dump myself now, time and money out of my pocket.

Customer service is NOT their forte. After asking for the refund, I was told they did not do refunds (odd, since they actually took off the charge for my first missed appointment when I saw it on my bill). I will not be charged for a service I did not receive!

The ONLY thing they did right was cancel the charge I had coming up for my next quarter.

Their response to my threat to cancel: "You're welcome to drop us - that's your opinion - there are tons of other customers that think we're fine."

Considering they have zero positive feedback, they may want to reconsider how much their customer's opinions matter. After all, I was warned by a neighbor not to use them. I will be warning everyone I know now too.

Disappointing service. Expected more responsible and consistent garbage pickup. Hopefully they improve.

Much better than County Waste, I love how I know who I'm speaking with on the phone and who is coming to my home, great piece of mind!

Every year when it snows, these guys operate even when the county school system won't run their buses and schools are closed. It may be delayed, who cares as long as they get it, definitely not an emergency.

They've been picking up the trash for my 92 year old mother for longer than I can remember at the backdoor. She's always been pleased with their service and I too, since she's too frail to wheel a can down to the curb.

Very nice lady on the phone, wasn't expecting that with trash service. Pleased so far with the service.

They are the last independent outfit in town that has size, but no too big where their quality is sloppy like some of the other haulers we've had before.

When I lived in my old neighborhood, Zan's would deliver a construction dumpster for spring cleaning every year at no additional charge to the community. That was so great and saved us a lot of money. The only reason I don’t use them now is because my HOA uses another hauler and I have no choice.

Great service, would recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to worry about remembering to take their waste to the curb.

I travel a lot for business and probably once a month, sometimes more I forget to take my trash to the curb. Zan's still will empty my trash from beside my house and I don’t even have that service. Great guys, really appreciate what they do.

They go above and beyond, my neighbor was locked in her basement. A Zan's guy was removing the trash from the back and saw her banging on the window from the bottom and he immediately knocked on my door and told me something was wrong with my neighbor. Had he not done that, she would have been in there until her husband came home 5 hours later. Anyone else would kept going without a care in the world.

Their new driver Theo services my home in Tarrington, what a nice and pleasant guy, always courteous.

I've had Waste Management, County Waste and Ducks. The smaller shops like this one are all about customer service and going above and beyond. Several times over this past year I've put out way more than I should since I've been cleaning out my garage and to my surprise they've collected it all each time, without charging me extra.

Jerome has been servicing my home for about 6 years and he is one of the most pleasant people I've ever met. He arrives with a smile and since I'm retired, I enjoy talking to him when I'm outside. He always aims to please. I referred many neighbors to them over the years, A+ all the way.

I live Sleepy Hollow and Zan's has been doing our trash for almost 15 years, very pleased with the service.

I called about getting service and they had a can delivered the next day. They did miss the first pickup the next week, but they haven' missed since. They also gave me a free month when I signed up and were very apologetic about the first mistake.

The only time my trash was missed was last year when it snowed 3 Thursdays in a row in February. Two out of the times they came a day or 2 late and once it never got collected. School busses didn’t run either due to the snow and ice, so I couldn't really get mad at Zan's for not jeopardizing their trucks and guys to get my trash. This was the only time in 3 years.

I've enjoying dealing with zan's over the last year. We were really bothered at the way Duck's Disposal sold out to County Waste and were concerned about dealing with a huge non-local company like them. We were happy to come across Zan's, which appears to be the only local smaller hauler left in Richmond. They have exceed our expectations with their backdoor service.
