I have been at El Greco many-many times for lunch or dinner. I never had a complain. The menu is long with American, Greek, Mexican cuisine, and the food is always great, the salads crisp and fresh, the prices very reasonable, and the service is good.
This is a quite big restaurant so I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. The owners and the servers are friendly and helpful, and the place is clean and open 24 hours. If I have friends I want to take to a restaurant that will not break the budget, I take them there, because I know I will not be embarrassed. I recommend them.

Upon entering El Greco Restaur...

Upon entering El Greco Restaurant at 9143 W Appleton Avenue in Milwaukee,Wisconsin, my husband and I were quickly seated by an exhausted looking waitress and given menus. He had eaten there previously and liked their breakfasts so we decided to try dinner. For an appetizer we ordered nachos, they arrived semi warm with stale corn chips and almost no cheese. There was also a meat substance(supposedly beef) that was orangeish in color and random chunks of tomato, lettuce and black olive. On the side were plastic cups of sour cream and mild salsa which seemed pretty tacky for a plate that cost close to ten bucks.. It is sad to say that Taco Bell has better nachos than this. We also ordered their Philly cheese steak sandwiches which came with a small cup of cole slaw that actually wasn't bad.The sandwich itself was served on dry, stale bread and the accompanying, abundunt blob of gray, strangely textured meat was completely tastless and without seasoning. The sandwich was topped with green pepper, onion, swiss cheese(which seemed out of place on a Philly since they are normally served with provolone) and 2 or 3 slivers of mushrooms. The fries(brought to the table 5 minutes after the rest of the food, tasted as though they were soaked in grease. The poor waitress asked how the meal was and when I told her she told me to talk to the cashier/manager. I did talk with the cashier,a large, rude boy who said his name was John. I asked him for the owner's name, He said the owner's name was Gus and that they do not give out last names which I found quite odd since he also stated that this horrid spot was his families business. He was quite rude and tried to say that the awful drek we ordered were the most popular items on the menu. I find that hard to believe unless they only serve first time customers and have no repeat business. To sum it up, the management is rude, very unprofessional, and the food is horrible. I will never eat there again. A waste of time and money.
