      Founded in 1984, the Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission, also known as ACVCC, is a state department that provides financial assistance services. Located in Montgomery, Ala., the department also offers educational, legislative issue handling and training-related services. It provides assessment and reimbursement services to low-income individuals. The Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission receives federal funds through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).
