General Info
We have been committed to serving the Ogden-Weber community for all of your appliance needs since 1957. We carry new and used appliances; offer in shop or in home repair, appliance delivery, and onsite installation services. And for the "do it yourselfer", we have the largest selection of parts in the area... "We've got your part!" Mark-A-Newt Appliance was established by Mark Spencer and Ian (Newt) Newton in 1957. Mark and Newt were both employed by Sears as service tech's with Mark being the Service Manager of Sears Service Department. They started the business with several hundred dollars each and held onto the philosophy of providing quality parts and service for a fair and reasonable price and guaranteeing their work. Mark-A-Newt currently has ten employees with five service and delivery trucks. Mark-A-Newt is constantly increasing its parts inventory and is now focusing on service, parts and used appliances. In September of 2007, Mark-A-Newt celebrated 50 years of business.

Provided by DexKnowsRepairman emptied the clogged pump in my washer instead of replacing it. Saved me a lot of money. He was friendly, on time and efficient. Will always call them first in the future.

Provided by DexKnowsHave used this company in the past work was always mediocre. Called to have a dishwasher repaired and was scheduled late in the week. The day of the appointment I was called to let me know that they did not have the part. The appointment would have to be moved back. I asked why they did not order the part when I called initially with model number and part request? Jerry blamed his secretaries. I explained that it was difficult to move my schedule to accommodate their appointments. He told me to find a different company which I did and do not regret. My customer service experience was totally unprofessional and lacking.

Provided by YPmobileI called them the day after talking to one of their competitors just before they closed. Needless, to say I call Mark A Newt and the saleswoman was very helpful, picked up the part for me in less than an hour and charged $16.00 less than their competitor. Also, it was an exact match.
Thank you, Kim Cheshire

Provided by DexKnowsI was actually looking for a different parts store. When I couldn't find it, I stopped at Mark-A-Newt. The people there were busy, but took their time to talk to me and give me good advice. When that did not work, they came out promptly and fixed the problem.

Provided by DexKnowsThis is a second respose to a previous review of this business. My initial experience with them was absolutely horrible however I am updating my review as the owner (Rick) has gone above and beyond anything we could have reasonably expected to remedy our situation. Our fridge broke down shortly after my husband fixed it the first time around. This time Rick provided a loaner fridge delivered the same day we called even though they were completely booked for deliveries they fit us in at the end of the day which I was so grateful for. Then when they realized the fridge was going to cost alot to fix he replaced it with a newer fridge of the same model and similar style at no charge to us. I have no hard feeelings at this point for him he has been excellent in ensuring that we got a quality product in the end. I will continue to update posts as necessary to let everyone know good or bad if anything else happens with it

Provided by DexKnowsI called for a service call on our Samsung Refridgerator after I was told you were a "Samsung Approved Contractor". I was not familiar with your company. Jerry was here in a timely manner, and was one of the most courteous and efficient repair persons I have dealt with in a long time. I want you to know I appreciated this greatly and would recommend you to family and friends. Thank you!

Provided by DexKnowsWe spent over 300.00 on a fridge and four months later it stopped working. The water filter went out almost immediately after the 90 day gaurantee was up it was 50.00 to replace. Now we have a broken 300.00 piece of garbage not to mention probably 2-300 dollars worth of bad food to replace. This should be illegal. I will never buy anything from here again and highly suggest you don't either.

Provided by DexKnowsThe bake element in our "vintage" GE electric oven went out and I thought for sure we'd have to replace the oven itself, being it was so old. I did some checking online and found I could order the part and have it shipped. Instead of going this route, I called Mark-A-Newt and sweet Ruby helped me find the appropriate element for my oven and matched the online price- more than half off the retail price. I was thrilled! Not only did I find what I needed in town, I got a great deal on it and felt great about buying locally instead of over the internet! I've always had great customer service there and will continue to use them for any future parts and service needs. Thanks Mark-A-Newt!! :)

Provided by DexKnowsSet up an appointment with Lowe's for Mark-A-Newt to repair a Whirlpool Dishwasher under warranty.Scheduled time was 1-5pm. Requested 1 hour notification to allow me enough time to leave work and meet the "specialists".Played safe and left work to be home at 1pm.Called Lowe's at 420pm to enquire about status. The response was "Mark-A-Newt are overbooked" you will need to reschedule.

Provided by DexKnowsWith no hesitation and without questions, we were given a full refund for an appliance (used washer and dryer) purchase that turned out to have been non-fully functional when we brought it home and connected it for our use. All of the washer's features did not work, as the salesperson assured us on the date of purchase. A "verbal" 30-day return was also honored. Their main interest was in our complete satisfaction with our purchase.
