General Info

Founded in 1937, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges is a nonprofit organization located in Reno, Nev. It has a membership of more than 1,700 judges, referees, commissioners, masters and other juvenile and family law professionals. It deals in a variety of juvenile and family related issues, including child abuse and neglect; adoption and foster care; juvenile delinquency; family violence and victims of juvenile offenders; alcohol and drug abuse; termination of parental rights, custody and visitation and minority issues. The organization also conducts more than 200 educational programs for over 30,000 judges, court administrators, social and mental health workers, police, probation officers and others working in juvenile and family courts. Additionally, it offers advanced degree programs in conjunction with the University of Nevada for judges and other court professionals.
