Had the pleasure of having breakfast at this restaurant over our wedding anniversary this past weekend, and was very impressed at the quality of food, the history and great upkeep of the property, and all the items in the gift shop as well. On weekends, the line can get a bit long, especially if the San Antonio heat has kicked-in, but in most cases, it's worth the wait for your light-up, vibrating pager to signal you for breakfast!Their butter pecon syrup was incredibly good, as were the huge biscuits with that special Pioneer country gravy that's been so famous for over 50 years served on the side! Bacon had outstanding flavor, and most meals were served with all kinds of fresh fruit. The coffee was a bit bland, but probably to most people's liking, being that I like my brew on the strong side anyway.Plan to have a wonderful breakfast at the Guenther house, and bring some extra spending money for the goodies inside the gift store to take home from your visit!
