The company provides solid waste, green waste and recycling collection services to the residents and businesses of Alameda and San Leandro, Calif. Companies affiliated with Alameda also provide service to the cities of San Francisco, Brisbane, Millbrae, Pleasanton, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara, Calif. The company manages a waste stream that equates to approximately one million tons of material annually. With city support, Alameda also implemented a food scrap-recycling program, and the company is continually striving to reach Alameda County s goal of diverting 75 percent of waste from landfills by the year 2010. Established in 1992, Alameda County Industries has headquarters in San Leandro.
