Open Hand Theater is a unique Central New York institution, recognized as a center for the puppetry arts, focused on the relationship between the artisty of puppetry, the magic of community involvement, and the creative education of our children. Open Hand Theater, founded in 1980, is a Mask/ Puppet theater, museum, and arts facility in a historic "Castle" located in multi cultural district in Syracuse New York. Open Hand Theater’s Museum of International Masks and Puppets is an entrance point into historical, traditional and changing cultures, a joyful way to celebrate our human experience. To visit our beautiful museum and theater call ahead for an appointment. Open Hand Theater's Giant Puppet Circus is a wonderful summer tradition for all ages! Check out the amazing skills of the students in our Theater Arts Circus Camp as they dazzle the audience with feats of dance, juggling, comedy and puppetry.
