If you are considering this this bank is horrible. I had a horrific experience. I was a co- applicant on a account with someone and the committed some fraudaluent acts and I called Bank of America to get my name removed from the account they( the Risc department) said the account would be closed and that I could go and open my own account and if I may add the people in that department was very rude and uncaring and cold. Anyway i went to the bank opened my account again after being told it was ok and the next day my account was closed. Supposedly,I was told this in error and being that this was their fault they still decided to hold my funds. I have never dealt with such an ignorant bank in my life . Please search out other banks because this one is horrible.

The best decision I ever made, was to close out my account!

If you want to pay ridiculous fees for ALL transactions, this is the bank for you. Great customer service unless you have a problem. After freezing our account due to an ATM deposit becoming separated from the envelope they proceeded to charge $35.00 each on the DEBIT transactions not honored. They graciously decided to only charge us for 5 of the 9 transactions. Then after driving 1 hour to the bank on the day they said we could close our account out, they were unable to release the money due to a computer error. If you are thinking about opening a bank account, do yourself and your money a favor and RUN don't walk to any other bank!

Didn't have that problem

They must have fixed that problem, because it took me only 5 minutes to get a human being on the line, who gave me the regular phone number to the local branch right away. I'm going in to open an account today because we are moving cross country and they are the only bank that is in both my present city and the one we're moving to. I will add more later.

Can not stand the customer service staff.

I do not like this bank, the customer service staff is not competent in resolving problems. when you have trouble using your card or access to your account, they treat you like the suspect instead of looking into the problem and investigate what has caused the problem. Also, their on line banking security is questionable.

Designed to avoid the customer!

Just try finding a phone number for your local branch... you get an 800 number, which you dial. After about 5 minutes of phone automation hell (assuming you don't key in any answers, in which case you are finished), you get to talk to an operatorThis operator takes down all YOUR information (which is apparently necessary to give you a phone number). After wasting more of you time, she finally gives you.... the same 800 number you dialed. You mention that, of course, and you're put on hold.How long are you on hold? That's easy. How long are you willing to hang in there? Yesterday I spent a full hour listening to bad music on me speaker phone, before I needed to make a call.Congratulations... you've blown a good part of your day, and accomplished absolutely nothing.

The best decision I ever made!

I wish I had switched to Bank of America sooner. This is a bank where everyone knows your name. The wonderful people, especially at the downtown location, are always polite, courteous, and very eager to help. I enter with a smile and leave with a smile every time.

The worst decision I ever made!

I had a checking account thru bank of america-my children were playing with my deposit envelopes-unfortunately I deposited the wrong envelope(it was empty)-how low I already felt-Bank of America froze my account-never notified that envelope was empty and account was frozen-I was getting direct deposit not only that but it was tax time and state check was to be deposited. When I tried to make a purchase-I was declined-Bank informed account frozen due to deposit can not re-open-I had to wait till the next day to get my money-a platform specialist informed me that account was open-next pay day same thing happened-oh how humiliating-got that all straight-never got state check called tax service-they said state would try to deposit see account closed and mail-well Bank of America kept my money and was charging me fees every month did not even send a letter or statement or a phone call to let me know I had $4000 in Bank they were charging fees on-I found out by calling the state
