Provided by YP.comTook # 6 people to lunch today Made Res. for 1:30 arrived 1:13. Table was ready and set for # 6 the place was a full house. Sat down waitress was over to take our order. I HAD ASKED FOR THE CORNER TABLE OVERLOOKING THE BAY AND THATS WHERE THE PUT US. Everybody but me ordered the Seafood platter. I ordered the shrimp { They were large and fresh } ALWAYS CAN TELL FRESH WHEN YOU BITE INTO THEM THEY SNAP A LITTLE. Don't like drawn butter so I asked for some Newberg sauce on the side. It was there. We are East Bay people and will make the trip again. The entrees are a little high in price for lunch. Overall a very pleasant experience

The food is always great at Iggys. The only downside to this place is the LONG line that always seems to be there, but once you have the food you know why the lines are so long! The prices are unbeatable! the food is always fresh, and hot. A must go to place when you're in the area! The clam cakes have just the right amount of clams in them, the make up of the chowder is perfect. The staff at Iggy's is always great as well. We have been to Iggy's at least two dozen times, and have never had a bad experience.
- General Info
- It all started with a promise and from there it was built on a vision. Gaetano Gravino was a hairstylist who had found part time work at a doughboy shack in Oakland Beach. This part time work turned into an opportunity that spoke to his entrepreneurial spirit – the same spirit that lives on in his wife and children: Sally, MaryAnn, David, and Guy. When the chance came to lease the establishment, Gaetano and his wife Sally took it. And in 1989, Iggy’s Doughboy and Chowder House was born – coined after a nickname given to him by his son, David. The featured dish at the time was the red chowder – the recipe a family secret created by Sally herself.
